The Knoxville Wind Symphony
VISION & DESCRIPTION:
A forty-person professional ensemble consisting of woodwind, brass, and percussion
players which performs in Knoxville and surrounding
communities.
PERFORMERS:
The Knoxville Wind Symphony seeks to perform the best wind literature at a
professional standard. Accordingly, principal chairs in the ensemble have
been filled with the finest area performers, including members of the Knoxville
Symphony Orchestra, college and university music professors, and other area
professionals.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To present on a professional level, for the edification, education, and enjoyment
of Knoxville and East Tennessee audiences, the finest literature available
for winds.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS for KNOXVILLE:
Unparalleled educational opportunity for the approximately 12,000 high school
and college band members in East Tennessee to hear the best literature available
for their medium performed by a professional ensemble.

EDUCATION & OUTREACH
The Knoxville Wind Symphony endeavors to provide outreach to high school and
college students from Knoxville and East Tennessee through open rehearsals,
